FIA NEZ Rallycross championship will gather drivers on Biķernieki track in the beginning of July

On July 10 and 11, the FIA NEZ Rallycross championship will take place on Biķernieki track. The motorsport event will bring together rallycross drivers from various Northern European countries to compete for the highest podium in the Latvian Rallycross, NEZ Baltic Rallycross, as well as Lithuanian Rallycross championships. Round atb Bikernieki track will be an opening competition for all three championships.

Jānis Bergs, organizer of the Latvian Rallycross championship: “This year's rallycross season in Latvia, similarly to last year, will start in July. The competition will combine three championships, so we will welcome both domestic drivers and neighbors from different regions of Northern Europe. We hope that not only drivers, but also fans will experience exciting and nerve-wracking competition, because we know that the most pressing issue at the moment is the presence of spectators and fans. We will work to implement the restrictions set by the responsible authorities and adapt them to the safe attendance of the competition. We will continue to inform rallycross fans, you won’t miss the opportunity to buy tickets,” says Jānis Bergs.

“Already in the winter months, we followed the activity in the garages of drivers, I’m positive of activity in the direction of the supercar class, for which more and more new cars are being built and prepared. I think that in the 2021 season this class will be revived and at the start we will see the most powerful vehicles of this level in one place,” positive is the organizer of the competition.

Edijs Ošs, supercar driver of the Latvian Rallycross championship: “After the debut in the supercar class in the 2020 season, our team has received a European-level sports car ŠKODA FABIA, which we have recently handed over to fans virtually. In the first trainings, the car was able to show good results, which indicates the potential for competitiveness at the Baltic level. We are ready to spend a full season of exciting battles, waiting for other strong participants of this class to start. This year, the start car will be seen in the Latvian, Baltic and Estonian rallycross championships,” reveals Edijs Ošs.
